Wow it’s terrible to see that politics and war are ruining such a great country. The people suffer while the people on top get richer and benefit from others suffering. These people do not see the long term effects they are having for their people as well as their families and legacy. By putting a country in such a “mess” they disrupt the advancement and all that. Then the world wonders why these places are so behind and disconected with the world. Also, no one is there to help them out, donnation do their parts, but the majority of it is taken by the authority in the country. These places go in vicious circles that never work in their favour, it’s very unfortunate. Hope one day things get done out of pure will instead of pure profit, for these countries. God bless!!!

what are the steps for a Canadian citizen to help the people of Uganda?
March 3, 2010 at 7:51 pm
I agree with you Rafael. There are many ways people can help Uganda. Supporting Ugandan artisans is a good way to increase awareness, and raise funds for the development of projects in the country.

We need to support businesses that give back to people. Raising societal awareness is something we should all promote.
March 3, 2010 at 11:19 pm
I totally agree with you Minh, that’s why I bought many of those necklaces and bracelets and offer them to my love ones!!! =D Loving their products and while helping those poor ones.

Excellent idea of helping Uganda by supporting their local artists, far more interesting than asking for donation. Promoting this kind of activity is definitely beneficial for both the people and the country of Uganda. The sad part is too few people are aware of their misery or perhaps even of their existence. Only a natural disaster can raise attention to their desperation but again it would only last moments before we all forget. Nevertheless, great project and will definitely support!
March 15, 2010 at 12:38 pm
Exactly people don’t realise that there are many countries just like Uganda that needs our help and support untill some kind of natural disaster hits their ground. Then people will be like “oh sh!t. we gotta help that poor country.”.

The main issue in these countries is corruption in government and their conflict of interest. They are the ones causing these horrific living conditions. We have kids being kidnapped and forced to join the LRA at very young age; also women forced to become the leaders’ sex toy. I feel totally disgusted. For us who are lucky to live in America, we should step up and do at least the minimum to help these people. Go BOA!! I’m proud of you~

I’ve heard about them and saw some of their jewelry somewhere in Montreal. Very nice colourful work! Thanks for sharing 🙂

This is great idea not only to help the young artisans of Uganda, but to instill in them a sense of pride and purpose.
March 6, 2010 at 2:10 am
This is a great idea, a business such as BoA raises money to help out the people/artists of Uganda. Like it said every dollar that you spend, the compagny gives back 50% of it to Uganda’s community. Which I think that it’s far more interesting then just sending money to a random compagny.
Support Uganda! Support BoA!

As Canada is a country of freedom, and heart, we need to set a good example!
Support BoA!
March 15, 2010 at 11:58 am
So much needs to be done in this world that its almost impossible to make a noticeable difference at once….
We, as advantaged Canadians, can help make a difference little by little at a time, no matter how small our contributions may be…
Support…
March 15, 2010 at 5:24 pm
Totally agree with you Ro!! ALL OF US TOGETHER, we can make a great difference!!!!
March 16, 2010 at 6:18 pm
One does not make a difference but everyone together can change the world.
March 15, 2010 at 12:02 pm
I believe BOA is only one step to helping such a country! There are so many things that countries in North America for example can do to help! We have the means to help them and they desperately need it; it’s time for people to wake up and realize that!!
It’s all about supporting each other by any means necessary and possible!
Organizations such as BOA recognize that they can be part of an amazing change for Uganda and the start of many effort to help.
March 15, 2010 at 8:01 pm
I am glad to see that there are ways to help the people in Uganda and that we can be a part of it. I will definitely contribute to this now that I know that I can. A very impressive initiative that should set an example for many people.
March 15, 2010 at 9:35 pm
Sad statistics, hard reality…Congratulations for your idea. We can learn from you that it takes so little to do so much for those people.
March 16, 2010 at 3:37 pm
Thank you Smaranda! You can join them through facebook or twitter! =)

I support this fully, this cold world is full of innocent minds that need to be educated, cloth, fed and able to feel love an affection in order to grow into healthy individuals that this world needs to survive. In order to make this world a better place we all have to come together as a team because everyone has a part to play since we all have everything we need , its time to give to them too . Children are the future .
BoA is a great exemple , your articles aren’t as a purchase but a donation .
People are spending tons of dollars on worthless things , why not spend some in a cause you will be happy and will remember about it .
You buy something you like , you Happy , It makes a donation . Its a Win Win situation .
I totally support it =)
March 16, 2010 at 4:31 pm
yeah like bryan said, save those children!
March 17, 2010 at 12:16 pm
This is an amazing project that will help bring awareness to Canadians. We are often unfazed by situations that are not close to us, leading to a very parochial way of thinking. This could help broaden the scope of information for young North Americans. Hopefully the money is shared as needed and not kept in one place. Good Job Kelly!
March 20, 2010 at 10:11 pm
Thank you Olivia for support!!!! =D You can join BOA through facebook or Twitter! ^^
